Michigan Shores Club Wedding: Christine and Jacob

I met with the adorable Christine and her sister at a local coffee shop up north a few months ago. They grew up in my neighborhood, so we had lots in common. It felt like I was sitting down with old friends.

Christine and Jacob decided to celebrate their happy day on the north side of Chicago at a quaint club called Michigan Shores. It sits right off of the lake and has a real preppy vibe. Christine was a bit preppy herself, so I pulled inspiration from both the setting and her color palette of green, creamy ivory, and fuchsia.

Cafe Brauer Wedding: Liz and Iain

If you're planning a wedding from another state or country, I can imagine the challenges you must be facing. The upside is that we're living in a highly advanced technological society. Photos can be exchanged via email, chatting can be done live via Skype, and if time permits, even swatches can be sent overseas for a perfect match. You might run into a bit of trouble tasting your food, but hopefully you'll be able to plan a trip to your destination before your wedding day.

Liz and I initially exchanged emails prior to her visit back to the states from England. We scheduled a consultation around the holidays and met for a little over an hour to chat about flowers. From that point on, all communication was done via email and a few phone calls. In the end, it turned out to be a beautiful and happy day for the couple!

Chicago History Museum Wedding: Maureen and William

This wedding was truly a labor of love! Maureen worked so hard to make sure every little detail was covered from the gold trimmed escort cards to the table markers - the entire wedding was just stunning! We were so happy to play a part in making their wedding day complete.

Thanks to the fabulous photographers at Gerber and Scarpelli, you'll enjoy all of the little details too! The Chicago History Museum definitely helped supply their beautiful backdrop.

Cafe Brauer Wedding: Leslie and Joe

I was just telling another florist that I love working at Cafe Brauer not only because it's such an amazing and unique space, but I also love the the clientèle there.  Leslie and Joe were no exception, married in June on one of those crazy stormy days.  We hope that the old wives tale is true and rain on your wedding day brings good luck!

We were able to take a room shot before we left.  Tall centerpieces were loose, asymmetric arrangements of hydrangea, dendrobium orchids, mokara orchids, ti leaves, and steel grass complemented by lower centerpieces of submerged mokara orchids.

We just wrapped up another busy week of weddings across the city. We hit the Adler Planetarium, Spiaggia, and West Loop Studios. I'm in the process of capturing all of the beautiful details to share with you so stayed tuned!

It's a bright and beautiful day in Chicago, so I thought I would share a few images of a vibrant wedding we produced late spring last year. The day went off without a hitch at the newly renovated Allerton Hotel thanks to the seamless coordination of Katie at Dettagli Weddings.

Chicago Illuminating Company Wedding

Happy Holidays! I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful sights around the city. I love this time of year in Chicago. The sparkling lights down Michigan Avenue, snow dusted tree branches, and crisp winter air make for such a romantic wedding setting. We have a few coming up next week so stay tuned for new photos.

A short while ago I wrote a blog on the Chicago Illuminating Company and how we were producing a fabulous event for Elly and Dave. The gorgeous photos by Gerber and Scarpelli have just been released and I couldn't wait to share them with you.

Elly and Dave selected the Chicago Illuminating Company for its sleek and modern architecture. The white walls act as a blank canvas, allowing floral pieces to take on a role of their own, almost like works of art.

The bouquets were a collection of textured and vibrant floral consisting of spider mums, dendrobium orchids, succulents, brain celosia, and kangaroo paw.

A continuum of minimalism at its best, the centerpieces consisted of Manzanita branches adorned with cymbidium orchid blossoms, submerged callas under a floating candle, and a low and lush arrangement of exotic floral surrounding a floating candle. It was stunning!
