I recently took a trip over to The Ivy Room in the heart of the city to meet with Donna, the Director of Marketing and Special Events. I’ve been to the Ivy Room before for an industry event, but with all the hustle and bustle going on, I really wasn’t able to see all of what this venue had to offer.
My intention for the visit was to see it bare and to let my imagination run wild. With Donna as my personal tour guide, I had her knowledge of the space at my fingertips. She has been there since the day they opened their doors two years ago and has witnessed all sorts of creative settings.
If you’re searching for a quaint and historical retreat from the city, in the heart of the city, the Ivy Room is the ideal setting. Here’s a quick list of factoids about the space:
· The Ivy Room is situated between the 80-year-old historic Medinah Temple, recognized by the World Monuments Fund as one of 100 most significant, endangered manmade structures, and Tree Studios, a home for many local artists and their workshops.
· There is a quiet, hidden courtyard in between both structures that reminds me of a romantic Tuscan village. A wall of windows inside the Ivy Room open up to a perfect view of the courtyard.
· Rental Fees range from $7,000.00 - $9,000.00 on a given weekend for 6 hours of event use
· Courtyard rental starts at $500.00
· The Ballroom can function as a ceremony and reception space; guests can retreat to the lower level for cocktails
