I'm really excited about the upcoming shift in wedding flower trends. Over the last few years we've seen tons of willow branches, submerged flowers, and minimalist designs. I do think there will always be a need for this in modern venues like the MCA or Chicago Illuminating Company, but I welcome back with open arms the soft lush bouquets and frilly centerpieces of the past.
A fusion of traditional and modern design is on the horizon. You'll see lush arrangements of full-bloom garden roses and anemones amongst modern orchids and callas in unique ceramic containers. Glitz and glamour will be present in crystal embellished pieces. I imagine inspiration being drawn from period piece films like Marie Antionette and The Duchess.
I pulled together a storyboard that I would classify as vintage elegance. I look forward to posting more color palettes soon.
Enjoy!
