Romantic Summer Wedding at the InterContinental

It may have been a little cloudy outside, but on the inside hearts were filled with joy at this elegant summer wedding and reception at Chicago's InterContinental. The bride carried a textured white and blush bouquet with peonies, garden roses, dahlias, spray roses, astilbe, and bupleurum. The reception decor was lush, white, and romantic, with hydrangeas, roses, stock, spray roses, white yarrow, and white astribe, elevated centerpieces on silver pedestals, and mint julep cups with shimmering votive candles. The bride and groom were stunning, the setting magnificent, and the families wonderful. It was such a pleasure to be part of Icy and Mike's awesome wedding day. Autumn Old Town Wedding

Allysa and Devon met as undergrads through a mock-trial team at Loyola. Devon, a sophomore, was team captain, and Allysa, a freshman, was a rare unanimous choice to join that year. During their first tournament, in Lexington, KY, Allysa and Devon were teamed up to work together. Two months later, they were working together again. He asked her out during a mock trial in Ohio, and the relationship grew from there. They went on to pursue their law degrees, at N.Y.U. and the University of Michigan, but when the time was right, he proposed at one of her favorite restaurants -- in Disneyland. "It was the best-ever closing argument," said Allysa. They tied the knot at St. Michael's in Old Town on an unusually pleasant November day. Then, they wined and dined their friends and family at Germania Place, in the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast. While Allysa and Devon are both accomplished attorneys practicing in New York, their love for Chicago really shined through.
