Brides often ask us what colors are "acceptable" for them to carry on their big day. It's confusing given the history behind the bridal bouquet. Bouquets used to shield demons and evil spirits from coming close brides. Rest assured that today's modern bride can carry anything she wants! The bridal bouquet today represents the bride's personality, style, and wedding theme.
A few weeks ago we captured a perfect example of a "non-traditional" bridal bouquet. You'll see the bold combination of deep burgundy callas, dahlias, and tulips amongst subtle hints of lily of the valley (a sentimental flower to the family). Her attendants carried complimentary bouquets of roses and cymbidium orchids to complete their "royal palette". I just loved the way the photos turned out! (Thanks, Jeremy Lawson!)
One tip to remember, just choose what feels right to you. That's the beauty of flowers!
Enjoy!
